Compositae: Antennaria neglecta - field pussytoes
The American Painted Lady (Vanessa virginiensis) caterpillar feeds on pussytoes and other composites and sometimes encloses the blossoms in its silken web home. Locally these butterfly larvae have been seen on Antennaria neglecta but not on A. plantaginifolia.
